Obituary

Joyce Weatherill Joyce Annette Weatherill, 71, of Fort Morgan, was called home after a long battle with Parkinson`s disease on April 5, 2011. Celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Ballpark Rd., Sterling, with Pastor Sean Cole officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Private family inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Joyce was born Aug. 25, 1939, to Nelson and Madeline Ferguson in Sterling. She attended Willard Grade School through the eighth grade and graduated from Merino High School in 1957. She then went to work for the Security State Bank and later at Great Western Sugar Company.

She married Lane Weatherill on May 31, 1958. They lived and farmed in the Merino area for 45 years and were married for 52 years. They moved to Fort Morgan in May 2003.

Joyce was of the Protestant faith, having previously been a member of the Willard Methodist Church and Faith United Methodist Church. She worked as a volunteer for the Cooperating Ministries for a number of years and was a charter member of the Willerino HD Club. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mom and grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband Lane of Fort Morgan; son, Bryan Weatherill and wife Stephanie of Sterling; daughter, Suzy Pomaranski and husband Mike of Clifton, Oxon, UK; and daughter, Stacey Butcher and husband Terry of Morrill, Neb.; grandchildren, Oliver Pomaranski of Oakland TWP, Mich., Remington Pomaranski of Clifton, Oxon, UK, Cassidy and Tyler Butcher of Morrill, Neb., and Molly and Daniel Weatherill of Sterling; her mother, Madeline Ferguson of Sterling; sisters, Harriet Wolever of Fort Collins and Linda Houghton of Denver; and several nieces and nephews; four sisters-in-law, Jan Lingard, Donna Flood, Sue Thornton and Anne Doucleff.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nelson Ferguson; niece, Joni Wolever; brother-in-law, Clyde Wolever; and sister-in-law, Nancy Woolhether.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Northern Colorado or the Parkinson`s Foundation, in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
