Jose Fuentes, 40, of Sterling, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with the Rev. David Baines officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
Mr. Fuentes was born Jan. 24, 1968, to Jose M. Fuentes Sr. and Carmen C. (Sandoval) Fuentes, in Fort Morgan. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1986 and moved to Sterling from Fort Morgan 17 years ago. He had worked at Taco Bell for the last nine years.
He is survived by his mother, Carmen C. Acosta of Sterling; sisters, Christine Vasquez, Donna Mendez and Patricia Terrazas, all of Sterling; brother, Jose Angel Acosta of Sterling; grandmother, Manuela Sandoval of Sterling; five aunts; four uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Fuentes was preceded in death by his grandfather, Geronimo Sandoval; cousins, Joe Angel Avalos, Josiah Belderrama, Emilio Calderon and Warick Tobalt Talamantes.
Memorials may be made to the Jose M. "Joey" Fuentes Memorial Fund in care of the Bank of Colorado.
