Jolene Kay Loughran, 75 of Sterling, CO passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at The Harmony Home in Sterling, CO. Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 28, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Jodie Harless officiating. Jolene will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, CO.

Jolene was born on July 11, 1948, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Joseph Carl and Bertha Peral (Anderson) Mersch. She was married to Russ Penfold in 1967 and later married Allan Loughran on April 19, 1990. She attended Pioneer High School in Royal Center, IN.

She owned and operated her business called Jolenes cleaning service. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing with the ladies on a league, gardening, and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bertha Mersch.

Jolene is survived by her sons Ty Penfold and wife Sherry of Sterling, CO and Troy Penfold and wife Jamie of Sterling, CO, grandchildren Justin Riddle, Travis Riddle, Hayden Hooten, Alyssa Hite, Kori (Taylor Maier) Penfold, and Jaden Penfold and fiancé Aaron Marrinan, step-children Matt Loughran and wife Misti of Broken Bow, NE, Jeff Loughran and wife Rose of Williston, ND, and Teresa Gilligan of Rock Island, Ill, step grandchildren Addison Cooper, Heather Hill, Justin Gilligan, Kristina Brakeman and Jaden Pfeiffer, siblings Jeanette (Bill) Cady of Fremont, IN, Janice Herrin of Lafayette, IN, Butch (Judy) Shidler of Royal Center, IN, John (Pat) Mersch of Peru, IN, Joe (Keri) Mersch of Plymouth, IN, Joetta Sines of Royal Center, IN and Jack Mersch of Logan Sport, IN.
