John Artzer III

John Artzer III, 76, of Williamsburg, Va., died on Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Williamsburg. Graveside inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. John Roberts officiating. Military rites will be by American Legion Post No. 20.
Mr. Artzer was born Nov. 26, 1930, to John Artzer Jr. and Gertrude Clara (Sewald) Artzer in Sterling. He attended St. Anthony's Schools, Northeastern Junior College and received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska. Following his graduation, he trained as an architectural hardware consultant and worked in that field until his retirement.
Mr. Artzer served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Artzer enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and gardening.
Mr. Artzer is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Ellen Coats Artzer; two sons, Dr. Mark Bryan Artzer and wife Charla of Williamsburg, and Cole Wilson Artzer and wife Sue of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Artzer, Brenda Ellen Artzer, John Marshall Artzer and Nicole Elaine Artzer; step-grandson, Scott Philips; and 11 brothers and sisters, Susie Minichuk, Louise Ward, Paul Artzer, Barbara Polini, Julie Hettinger, Bernice Mills, Mary Shultiz, Monica Harrigan, Luke Artzer and Andrea Shaw.
