Joanne Campanella 92, of Sterling peacefully passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Duffield officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Joanne was welcomed into this great world by her parents, Walter Carl Kidney and Josephine (Carson) Kidney on November 9, 1929, in Eckley, CO. She was one of nine children and attended a country school there. She married James "Jimmy" Roys in 1958 and they farmed until he passed away in 1960.

Then in December of 1963, she married Emanuel "Campy" Campanella and lived in Sterling with his 4 children Lena, MaryAnn, Jenny and Mario. Joanne did volunteer work at the hospital, church and took care of children and helped with bingo at Devonshire Acres for 20 years.

She enjoyed some very nice trips to Italy and surrounding countries and many states visiting children and grandchildren. The church and cooking were a very big part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter & Josephine Kidney; first husband James Roys; her second husband Campy Campanella; siblings Neil Kidney, Lee Kidney, Melvin Kidney, Dale Kidney, Mary Runyan, Grace Snyder, Vira Lewton, and Julia Schmidt, and stepdaughter Lena Snyder.

Joanne is survived by her stepdaughter MaryAnn Campanella of Duluth, MN and Jenny Campanella of Colorado Springs, CO; stepson Mario Campanella of Aurora, CO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends Bob and Judy Webb of Sterling, CO.
