JoAnn Strohmeyer, 81, of Sterling, passed away Jan. 3, 2013, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Wesley officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

JoAnn was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Crook to George and Anna (Vath) McCracken. She graduated from high school.

On July 7, 1950, she married Marion Wayne Strohmeyer in Sterling.

She was a member of the Living Word Church of God.

JoAnn was a housewife, a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and her flower garden.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Strohmeyer of Sterling; sons, the Rev. Donald Strohmeyer and wife Connie of Lyons, Kan., and Bryan Strohmeyer and wife Teri of Sterling; daughter, Linda Wirtala of Casper, Wyo.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Allen Strohmeyer in 1965; and siblings, Victor, Twillia and Lavonne.
