Jim V. Roberts 84 passed away peacefully Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. A graveside inurnment will be held in the spring of 2025.
Jim was born in Big Springs, Nebraska on June 4, 1940, to John and Anna Roberts. He moved to Crook, CO when he was four. There he spent his time helping on his family farm and raising livestock. He attended Crook High School where he played football. In 1958, he was part of the team that won the Colorado State Championship, he was also known as a bit of a troublemaker! After he graduated, he married Judy Kler in 1960, and they had four daughters, Jodi, Julie, Joyce and Jami. Early in their marriage they farmed North of Proctor, CO until purchasing their family farm in Crook in 1972. Jim was a follower of Jesus and a member of the United Church of Crook.
Jim enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family, NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Anna Roberts and his Grandson Matthew Robert Stieb.
Jim is survived by his wife Judy Roberts (Kler); daughter Jodi Stieb and her husband Bob of Sterling, CO., their daughters Katie and Casey Madden of Kimball, NE and Sarah and Jason Vorderberg of Sterling, CO and their daughters Charlee and Claire; daughter Julie Roberts and Darrell Stoker of Anna TX and her daughter Jordan and Conner Morrow of Trophy Club, TX and their daughters Peyton and Avery, Son Tyler Trinastich and Jessica of Van Alstyne, TX; daughter Joyce Black and her husband Charlie of Aurora, CO and their two daughters Taylor Black of Albuquerque, NM and Rylie Black of Centennial, CO; daughter Jami Carson and her husband Bob of Jordan, MN and their three children Morgan Long, Madison and Daniel Rud of Savage, MN and Michael Carson. Also survived by siblings Denny and Linda Roberts of Fort Collins, Sheree Amen of Woodland Park, John and Shirley Roberts of Yuma and Vern Roberts and LuAnn of Yuma; sisters-in Law Jeri Madden and Terry Kler both of Crook and brother-in Law John and Bonnie Kler from Sterling. As well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
