Jessie Lucille Koester, 73, of Sterling, died Feb. 27, 2007, in Sterling. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Meadows officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
Mrs. Koester was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Crook to Glen and Mollie (Schoenberg) King. She graduated from Padroni High School in 1951 and then attended Barnes Business College in Denver.
On Oct. 8, 1952, she married Leo Koester in Denver. She worked with her husband in business ventures. They later divorced.
She moved to the Sterling area 18 years ago from Kimball, Neb. She enjoyed golf, dancing, cooking, playing cards, gardening and being with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Koester is survived by her mother, Mollie King of Sterling; sons, Rodney Koester of Gillette, Wyo., and Steven Koester of Clarksville, Tenn.; daughter, Penny Day of Thermopolis, Wyo.; brother, Dean King of Fort Morgan; sisters, Janice Northrup of Stoneham and Vicki Vaughan of Denver; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glen King, in 1980.
