Jennings I. Grauberger, 71, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and formerly of LeRoy, died Jan. 26, 2007, at his home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at LeRoy United Methodist Church. Burial will be at LeRoy Cemetery.
Mr. Grauberger was born June 29, 1935, in LeRoy to Wesley and Bessie Grauberger. He worked as a rancher/farmer near LeRoy from 1959 to 1995. In 1995, he moved to Cheyenne, where he was self-employed.
He served in the National Guard for 13 years, attaining the rank of first lieutenant. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee. He served on the Soil Conservation Board for 18 years; was on the Co-Op Board and was on the Advisory Committee to Colorado's governors, Richard Lamm and Roy Romer.
Mr. Grauberger is survived by his wife, Connie Grauberger, whom he married June 28, 1959, in Sterling; one daughter, JoDee Tschirhart of Bella Vista, Ark.; two brothers, Willard "Willie" Grauberger of Johnstown, and Joel Grauberger of Cortez; five sisters, Ila Mae Scott of Cheyenne, Crystal Dagley of Connell, Wash., Jane Sheaffer of Cheyenne, Dorothy King of Berthoud, and Loni Stumpff of Sterling; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Jeff.
