Janice Luft, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Devonshire Acres Rehab Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. James R. Nash as officiant and with a luncheon to follow.  Private inurnment will follow the luncheon.

Janice was born on May 10, 1937, in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Clifford and Charlene Holder.  Her parents divorced and later when her mother remarried, the family followed the oil boom to Colorado in the early 50s.  She graduated from Sterling High School in 1955.

Janice married Rex Luft on November 24, 1956, and shared 63 years together before Rex passed in 2019.  She was a farmer's wife, district sales corn manager's "secretary," raised chickens and sold eggs as well as cream and milk from their cows.

Janice loved a variety of hobbies and interests throughout the years.  Her main interest was crocheting and made up to 50 blankets before arthritis caused her to stop.  She also loved being part of the Trinity quilting club, Boutique of Beauty bowling team, and the Home Hustlers club.   She enjoyed fishing and camping with Rex. She was also there for any family member that needed assistance with anything.

She was preceded in death by her infant son Leon, husband Rex, parents Charlene and stepdad Harold, father Clifford, sister Sonie, brothers-in-law Mike Donovan, Mike Peterson, and Ted Tomes, and sister-in-law Irita Sanberg.

Janice is survived by her son Leland, daughter Rexann and son-in-law Carl, grandchildren Chelsie Bergstrom, Lacie and Zachary Briggs, and great grandchildren Riley and Reid Bergstrom and Kasey Briggs as well as sister-in-law Bev Donovan, nieces Deana Jenkins, Mikaela Sandridge, Megan Marquez, and nephew Todd Moore.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Janice Luft Memorial Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church.  Chaney-Reager Funeral Home & Crematory is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
