Janet LaRue Crouse, 96 of Sterling passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Brush, CO. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Peetz Community Church. Inurnment will follow at Peetz Cemetery.

Janet was born September 24, 1922 in Mullen, Nebraska to William and Effie (Gramley) Wright. She married Lloyd W. Crouse on February 23, 1941 in Hyanais, Nebraska. They lived in Peetz, Co from 1958 to 1966 and then returned to Sterling. She worked many years as a bank bookkeeper.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peetz, CO. She liked reading, word puzzles, writing letters and visiting with friends. Janet loved horses, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her children, Linda Graves, Elise Penninger and husband Randy and Dennis Shelly; sister Yvonne Fish and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, daughter Shari Bartnik, sister Pauline Folk and brothers; Bill Wright and Dale Wright.
