James Vitacco, 69, of Sterling, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, in Sterling. A private family service was held. There was cremation. Chaney-Reager Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mr. Vitacco was born Nov. 7, 1937, to Pasquale and Frances (Caravello) Vitacco in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from high school.
He served in the U.S. Air Force several years and was honorably discharged. He later worked in maintenance for the postal service.
On April 18, 1963, he married Mary Lou Jordan in Lake Charles, La.
Mr. Vitacco is survived by his wife, Mary Vitacco of Sage, Ark.; daughters, V. Dianne Conlin of Gravois Mills, Mo., and Jami Miller of Sterling; sons, David Vitacco of Cedar Springs, Miss., Joey Vitacco of Forest Grove, Ore., and Dak Vitacco of Sterling; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Vitacco and Linda Maurro, both of Ridgewood, N.Y.; and longtime family friend, Anna Stack and family of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
