James "Jim" F. Krou, 74 of Padroni, CO passed away Mon. Dec. 14, 2015 at Rose Medical Center in Denver due to a heart attack following complications of colon cancer surgery. Memorial service will be 11:00 am Sat., Dec. 19 at Calvary Baptist Church, Pastor Michael Young officiating, with services concluding at the church.

Jim was born April 5, 1941 in Plymouth, Indiana to Oscar and Gracie Mae Woods Krou. He graduated from West Township High School at Plymouth in May 1959. He graduated from the School of Animal Husbandry in 1961.

Jim married Patricia "Pat" Wentzel on May 22, 1971 in Kewanna, Indiana. They were married for forty-four years.

He began his career as an auto mechanic for Van Horn Ford-Mercury in Culver, IN in 1969. Jim also was with the Culver police department and was a Marshall County Sheriff Deputy for eight years. He then moved on to marine mechanic from 1973 until 1978 at Culver Marina. Jim was a certified mechanic in both auto and marine.

In 1978 Jim and his family moved to Sterling, CO where he went to work for North Sterling Marina for fourteen years. He then opened his own marine and auto shop in 1991 until 1996. Jim worked for Cabela's for over six years and then for Blattner Company, constructing roads for the wind towers. He spent several years as lab tech for the wind towers course at NJC. Jim's most recent occupation was a driver for Prairie Express.

Jim enjoyed farming at home near Padroni and working with his beloved paint horses. He was a die hard Green Bay Packers fan and also enjoyed baseball and Nascar. Jim's recreation was hunting.

He is survived by his wife Pat Krou and daughter Lori Krou of Padroni.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Gracie Mae Krou and stepbrothers, Bill and Don.
