James Michael Huss, 72 of Sterling, passed away Mon, May 19, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation will be Thurs., May 22 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with Vigil Service and Rosary to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Fri., May 23, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
James was born March 1, 1942 in Sterling to Jacob and Henrietta Hoozee Huss. He married Carole L. Johnson in Crook on Sept. 29, 1962. He farmed, worked at the beef plant was a plumber for Reliable Plumbing and retired as a custodian for RE-1 Valley Schools in 2002.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was a former Elks Club member. He loved gardening, old cars and playing scrabble.
Jim is survived by daughters Christina M. Huss of Sterling and Adina Howard and husband Phil of Sterling; brothers Larry Huss and wife Dolly of Crook, Don Huss and wife Joan of Fort Collins, Joe Huss and wife Dian of Eaton, Tom Huss and wife Brenda of Iliff and Gary Huss and wife Joyce of Holyoke; sister Joanne Parry and husband Steve of Padroni; four grandchildren and one great grandchild, and his two best friends Denver and Ellie.
He was preceded in death by parents, wife Carole June 7, 1992, and son James Huss, Jr.
