James R. Britt St., 86, of Sterling, passed away Sept. 6, 2013, in Greeley. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Chaney-Reager. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Olinger Eastlawn Cemetery, 19600 East Smith Road, Aurora, CO.

James was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Big Springs, Neb., to Robert E. and Lula Mae (Johnson) Britt.

He moved from Stoneham to Sterling in 2000. He was a farmer through the years.

James was married to Irene Karthouser, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, James R. Britt Jr. of Sterling; stepdaughter, Saundra Fleck; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene "Maude" Britt; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert; six sisters, Bernice, Opal, Sylvia, Hazel, Helen, Lucille; and stepson, Butch Pelkey.
