Jack Allen Moyer, 55, of Crook, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at his home with family and friends present. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Eldon Callahan officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Mr. Moyer was born Sept. 12, 1952, to Ellsworth James Moyer Sr. and Gladys Doris Sherman in Galion, Ohio. He lived in Galion before moving to Crook, where he lived for 23 years. He worked in construction.

He married Glenda Downer on March 12, 1984, in Sterling.

He enjoyed carpentry, helping people in the community, working on cars and all kinds of projects, until he could no longer continue due to his illness.

Mr. Moyer is survived by his wife, Glenda of Crook; son Joseph Moyer of Crook; daughters, Maggie Goforth and husband David of Ovid, and Heather Lynch and husband Christopher of Julesburg; sisters, Josephine Crow of Crook, and Ruth Roberts of Galion, Ohio; brothers, Ellsworth Moyer Jr. of Galion, and Michael Moyer of Fort Lyons; granddaughter, Skye Goforth of Ovid; grandson, Hayden Lynch of Julesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Gladys Moyer; sister, Dorothy; and brothers, Bill and Jim.
