John 'Jack' E. Huffman
1931 - 2008
John "Jack" E. Huffman, 77, of Sterling, passed away Sept. 3, 2008, in Sterling. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, ending with a vigil service and rosary to follow at Chaney-Reager. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating.
He was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Sterling. On Dec. 24, 1949, he married Anna McCord. The couple was married for 58 years.
In his early years, he was an avid member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church, and read his Bible daily. He loved to watch mass and football on TV Jack was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jack, a caring and loving husband and a special father, will be deeply missed and remembered by friends that knew him and family. He was always willing to help others when it was possible.
Mr. Huffman is survived by his wife, Anna Huffman, of Sterling; a son, David Huffman and wife Louise of Norfolk, Va; and brother Donald Huffman and wife Evelyn of Sterling; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Saint Anthony Catholic School.
