Jack L. Claver, 84, of Sterling, CO passed away July 22, 2022, in Sterling, CO. Viewing will be held from 1-6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 29th, at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Jack was born on December 19, 1937, in Sterling, CO to Fay D. Claver and Agnes J. (Burkey) Claver. He was born in the old Busse Hospital in Sterling. He was raised in Sterling and went to school at Pleasant Divide School. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1955. He then continued his education at Northeastern Junior College for two years, earning a degree in Agriculture.

After NJC, he worked in the oil fields for a few years before starting a life-long career at Meadow Gold Dairy. He worked for them for over 35 years, serving many roles in his employment from maintenance to management. After retiring in 2000, he drove a semi-truck for Marquardt Trucking and BECO, transporting mail to Denver. He was a part-time farmer and a life-long member of the Elks Club.

On April 2, 1967, he married Phyllis Beck in Brush, CO. To this union they brought 3 girls, Jody, Jacqueline, and Janell. Together, they had 3 more children, Rebecca, Robert, and Kevin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Agnes Claver.

Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Claver. Brother Gene Claver (Alfretta) and sister Sharon Marquardt; 6 children Jody Bailey (Deb), Jacqueline Shay (Barry), Janell Pocock (Jeff), Rebecca Nickal (Darrell), Robert Claver (Jen), and Kevin Claver (Jennie); 8 grandchildren, Nicole, Bryan, Keith, Kyle, Sara, Kaleigh, Miles, and Joseph; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 more due in August.
