Isidro was born in San Luis de Cordero, Durango, Mexico, on May 15, 1936. He did not come from money; he came from love. After stepping on American soil for the first time in the early 50s after enlisting in the Bracero program, Isidro's love for America begins. Throughout his life, he carried his native Mexico in his heart and his beloved United States of America around his arms. His life was composed of hard work, integrity, humility, and truth. Simple things made him happy, authentic relationships made him smile, and the genuine love from horses gave him life.
He is preceded in death by his son Hector, grandsons Cesar Alejandro Sarmiento and baby Jacob.
Isidro is survived by his wife, Rosa Maria Nunez, and their four children: Jaime Nunez (Cynthia), Maria Sarmiento (Manuel), Olga Nunez, and Esthela Nunez Schnee (Dale), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
