Howard Dale Williams

Howard Dale Williams, 71, of Sterling, died April 10, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be Friday, April 13, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Sunday, April 15, from 12 noon until 6 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Thomas Gosser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Howard was born Jan. 6, 1936, to Jim and Vera (Stark) Williams in Sterling. He attended Columbine School through the eighth grade, and graduated from Sterling High School in 1953. He attended NJC for two years.
On Jan. 9, 1958, he married Della Frasca. They lived and farmed in the Sterling and Willard areas. He also worked at the Sterling Sugar Factory for many years. They lived on the family farm for 39 years until they retired and moved to Sterling in 2003.
Howard was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a Deacon for many years. He was a life member of the BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336. He enjoyed his time farming and caring for his cattle. He took pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was very caring and devoted to his family and he instilled in them the importance of honesty and keeping their word. There was never a better husband, father and grandfather.
Howard is survived by his wife, Della Williams of Sterling; daughters, Deanne Mason and husband Barry of Willard, and Pam Ferdig and husband Marv of Sterling; grandchildren, Brandon and Kevin Mason, and Ashley and Rachelle County; stepgrandchildren, Brianna and Brennan Ferdig; brother, Harold Williams and wife Joan of Westminster; sister, Gladys Boydstun of Meeker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Vera Williams; brothers, Harvey and Harley Williams; sisters-in-law, Louise Williams and Ann Crum; and brother-in-law, Laurence Boydstun.
