Homer Howard Kroeger

Homer Howard Kroeger, 87, of Sterling, died March 6, 2008, at Sterling Living Center. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with services concluding at the funeral home.
Mr. Kroeger was born May 14, 1920, to Walter and Clara (Rocker) Kroeger in Seward, Neb. The family moved to Sterling, where he spent most of his life.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in World War II and the Korean War and was a POW. Mr. Kroeger earned the Purple Heart as well as other commendations.
He worked for the Sterling Parks Department before retiring.
He is survived by his siblings, Lowell Kroeger, Charlotte Baca and Kenneth Kroeger, as well as several nieces and nephews.
