Herman Kiel, 91 of Greeley, CO passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at his home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 21 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Hays officiating. Herman will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.

Herman was born May 5, 1930 in Iliff, CO to John and Amalia (Roth) Keil. He worked many years at Safeway in Greeley. He enjoyed playing in a polka band and listening to polka music. Herman had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes. Some of the family changed the spelling of their last name to make it easier to pronounce and spell.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Emmanuel Keil, Emma Koehler, Johnny Kiel, Dave Keil, Lydia Ginther, Esther Rosenbach, Solomon Keil and Alvin Keil.

Herman is survived by his longtime friend and caretaker Terry Goad and several nieces and nephews.
