Herman H. Albrandt, 87, of Sterling, died Dec. 11, 2007, in Cheyenne, Wyo. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post No. 3541.
Mr. Albrandt was born June 24, 1920, in Sterling to Christ and Marie Albrandt.
On Dec. 2, 1940, he married Mildred K. Amen in Sidney, Neb.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Albrandt was a carpenter, building houses and commercial property for many years. He lived in Denver before moving to Fruita. Then, in 1990, he moved to Sterling.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sterling. He enjoyed building toys and furniture for his family, and raised and rode horses. His favorite horse was "Joker."
Mr. Albrandt is survived by his son, Herman E. Albrandt and wife Pam of Fort Morgan; daughter, Sally K. Morrison and husband Ralph of Sterling; sisters, Emma Bauder of Sterling and Leona Pabst of Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Albrandt in 2004; daughter, Linda Faye Hoover; granddaughter, Karrie Katherine Morrison; four sisters; and three brothers.
