Henry H. Vallier

Henry H. Vallier, 88, of Peetz, died Feb. 1, 2008, at Devonshire Acres in Sterling. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Peetz Community Methodist Church, with burial at Peetz Cemetery. Pastor Jodie Harless will officiate.

Mr. Vallier was born July 1, 1919, to Leonard and Marie Sindt Vallier in Peetz. He was born, raised, and lived all his life on the farm west of Peetz, where he enjoyed working the soil and milking cows. He graduated from Peetz High School and attended Colorado Aggies, now Colorado State University.

He married Eileen Dallegge on May 10, 1942. They were married 53 years.

Mr. Vallier semi-retired in 1999 when Valli-Vu Dairy was sold, but he was always ready to run errands and help with farming operations.

His hobbies included wood working, cabinet building, and repairing just about anything.

He served on the Peetz School Board, Peetz Telephone Board, held many positions on the church board, and served as church lay leader.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol and husband Ray of Burlington; sons, Gordon and wife Sandra, and Don and wife Diane, all of Peetz; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; two sisters; and his parents.
