Helga E. Peake Eriksen, 86 of Sterling, CO passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at Devonshire Acres. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 14 ^th at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at the Merino Cemetery

Helga was born June 29, 1936, in Heidelberg, Germany to Karl Haffner and Elieshbeth (Ruhle) Haffner. She attended school in Heidelberg, Germany. Helga married Darrell Dean Peake on February 12, 1955, in Heidelberg, Germany. Darrell served in the U.S. Army, and he was stationed in Germany for several deployments before retiring in 1969.  They returned to the United States and made their home in Sterling, Colorado. She worked as an admissions Clerk at the Sterling Regional Med Center for over 20 years and she also was self-employed with her home cleaning business.

Helga was member of the BPO Elk Does and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, gardening and especially enjoyed her dogs Tessa and Lillie. She loved listening to the sounds of music and American classic musicals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Darrell Peake, granddaughter Emily Peake, daughter-in-law Margie Peake brother Hermann Haffner and friend Raymond Harmon.

Helga is survived by her sons Jerry Peake and spouse Dorcey, Tim Peake and Paul Peake and spouse Rose, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
