Helen Agnes (Ward) Bendixen, 97 of Sterling, was born Dec. 2, 1916 in Humphrey, Neb., and died Sat., Jan. 18, 2014 in Sterling.

Memorial services will be held on Fri., Jan. 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Chaney-Reager Funeral Home in Sterling. Inurnment will take place at the Cheyenne Wells Cemetery followed by an open house held at First Christian Church in Cheyenne Wells on Sat., Jan. 25, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Memorials in Mrs. Bendixen's honor may be made to the Logan County Heritage Center or Devonshire Acres Activity Fund.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry; son Leon Michael; parents, four sisters, two brothers and one grand-daughter.

Mrs. Bendixen is survived by her children: Robert "Bob"
LeRoy and wife Janet, John "Jack" Herbert, Calvin "Kelly" Henry and wife Jaunita; twins Leon Michael and Lillian "Lil" Marie and husband Ed Buck; brother LaVern of Omaha, Neb., 17 grandchildren and numerous biological and step-great and great-great-grandchildren.
