Helen Lucille (Krull) Barton, 85, of Sterling, died Oct. 13, 2009, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michelle Witherspoon officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
She was born March 14, 1924, in Sterling to Henry M. and Leila C. (Young) Krull. She graduated from Sterling High School and continued her education for another year.
On Dec. 13, 1945, she married John A. Barton in Denver.
Mrs. Barton was co-owner of the Big B Drive-Inn with her husband John for two decades, and was Helen Lucille (Krull) Barton secretary for the superintendent of schools.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and PEO, and a former elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher of the church and the choir.
Mrs. Barton is survived by her husband, John Barton of Sterling; son, Wayne Barton and wife Janice of Arvada; daughters, Sue Lambrecht and husband Jerry of Sterling, Ann Barton and Bob of Sterling and Deb Hale of Australia; sister, Carol Kirkpatrick and husband Ray of Centennial; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael David Barton in 1954; brothers, Ken and Wayne; and one grandson.
