Harold "Snuffy" William Rowles Jr. 94, of Merino passed away Wednesday December 22, 2021. Viewing will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday January 2, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday January 3, 2022 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Harold will be laid to rest at Merino cemetery.

Harold was born January 21, 1927, in Portland, Indiana to Harold and Lavine (Mock) Rowles Sr. He attended school and completed the 8 ^th grade. Harold married Euretta Harris on November 13, 1954. He worked at Sessions Oil Company, and then the town of Merino as town Marshall and maintenance department for 32 years.

Harold served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on December 21, 1956.  He was a longtime member of the VFW American Legion and he enjoyed playing cards. His job at Merino was his love and passion.

He is preceded in death by his wife Euretta Rowles and sister Annetta Armantrout

Harold is survived by his children Margo Hancock, Ed & Judy Rowles, Nancy & Bob DeBerry, Linda Rowles, Sandy Wilcox and James & Shannon Rowles; grandchildren Heather Slevin, Scott Waters, Amanda Wilcox-Waller and Ryan Wilcox, Chastity (Austin) Rowles, Tabitha (Chris) Tatreau, Cora, Misty and Aaron Hancock and Becky and Emlie Rowles; and 18 great grandchildren.
