Harold Eugene Cook, 101 of Sterling, CO passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Harold Eugene Cook was born March 5, 1921, in Morgan, Texas to Finley Abner Cook and Eddie (Looney) Cook. They soon moved to Dublin, TX and then to Ranger, where he went to grade school. In 1934 they moved to West Texas. Harold attended high school at Coahoma, Forsan, Big Spring and graduated from Colorado City, TX in 1940.  He then went to Dallas and then to L.A., CA where he worked with aircrafts. He volunteered to the military but was unclassified until he was drafted in 1944, at which time he was working for Spartan Air Craft in Tulsa, OK. Harold served in the Navy Air Corp and was attached to an aircraft carrier as an electrician's mate.

He married Adelaide Hargrove in Colorado City, TX on Oct. 1, 1942. After his discharge in 1946, he worked in the Edmond and Oklahoma oil fields. In Dec 1950, he was transferred by British American Oil Co to Sterling, CO. For nearly 14 years they lived west of Sterling in the Yenter oil field. In 1964, Harold went to work for Pete's Electric and moved the family into Sterling. He retired from Pete's Electric in 1986. After retiring, he enjoyed taking art and computer classes at NJC and doing some part time work especially with computers.

Harold was active in the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, especially the children's clinics, and Christ United Methodist Church. One of his main hobbies was his parade trailer used many years by the Masonic Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his wife Adelaide, son Rodney, his parents, two sisters, one brother, and 2 grandchildren.

Harold is survived by his daughter Debbie (Bob) Elsloo; sons Duane (Julie) Cook and Randy (Cheryl) Cook, four grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
