Gweneth Paulette Copass, 61, of Sterling, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, in Sterling. Memorial services will at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. John E. Roberts officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Cremation has been chosen.
She was born Feb. 22, 1947, to Frank H. and Margaret M. (Stafford) Hightower, in Colorado Springs.
On Dec. 14, 1963, she married Lester A. Copass in Commerce City.
She was a certified nursing assistant in hospitals and nursing homes. She has lived in Colorado all of her life, residing in Fort Collins for 28 years, Commerce City and Thorton for 26 years, one year in Silt on the Western Slope and the past six years in Sterling.
Mrs. Copass was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sterling Regional MedCenter Auxiliary/ Volunteers and was past president and gift shop manager. She was a Cooperating Ministeries volunteer and past board member and State of Colorado Association of Healthcare Auxiliarians/Volunteers assistant district counselor.
She is survived by her husband, Les Copass; mother, Margaret Hightower of Loveland; daughters, Pam Lindenthal and husband Don of Merino and Teresa Copass of Sterling; son, Scott Copass of Fort Collins; sister, Marilyn Farrer and husband Tom of Dallesport, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Copass was preceded in death by her father, Frank Hightower; brothers, Kent Hightower and Stan Hightower; and sister, Eileen Hightower.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
