Gwen Elaine Hall, 82 of Sterling passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 in Sterling. Visitation will be 1 pm to 5 pm Sunday, May 7 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Monday, May 8 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Elder Sandy St. John officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Gwen was born February 20, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Oscar and Rilla (Archibald) Williams. During her early years, Gwen grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming where she graduated from High School. She attended college at the University of Wyoming and then transferred to Colorado University. Gwen worked at the Colorado National Bank in Denver, and then moved to Sterling where she owned and operated the Plains Motel. She also owned and operated the Silver Grill in Akron for several years. She became a real estate agent and later in life she retired as a bookkeeper with Timka Resources. Gwen loved listening to music, playing the piano and accordion and was a member of the Sterling Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Williams (1943); mother, Rilla Williams (1984); brother, Richard Williams (2007).
Gwen is survived by her children; Ed Hall and wife Lesley of Fairplay, CO, Janet Brooks of Sterling, CO and Barbara Pivonka of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Jeremy Holtz, Chandell Dale, Stephanie Bentz, Timothy Pivonka II, and Danielle Brooks; great-granchildren, Emily Brooks, Gina Morales, Dreyk Holtz, Brenna Bentz, Madison Pivonka, Brinley Bentz, Chanel Dale, and Noah Holtz; and brother Don Williams and wife Dana of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.
