Grace Elizabeth Paulsen, 79 of Sterling, was born Feb. 27, 1933 in Valentine, Neb. and died April 27, 2012 in Sterling.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.

Grace graduated from high school and was a cook in various nursing homes. She married Melvin Paulsen on Aug. 19, 1954 in Golden, CO. They moved to Sterling from Ft. Collins in 1984. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts and reading.

Mrs. Paulsen was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Paulsen in 1996; parents Harlan and Cecil (Coffman) Goodner; daughter Connie Morris; as well as three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by three sons: Keith Paulsen of Julesburg, Arthur Paulsen and wife Jenny of Phillipsburg, Mo. and Tim Paulsen and wife Janice of Eugene, Ore.; two daughters: Christie Scherf and husband Sam of Fleming and Melanie Meredith of Fleming; as well as 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
