Gordon D. Rich, 72, of Sterling, died Dec. 3, 2007, in Fort Collins. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at First Foursquare Church with Pastor Mike Kinney officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Gordon was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Prague, Okla., to Robert Leroy and Ethel Cloe (Wallis) Rich. He grew up in Prague, graduating from high school there.
On Dec. 23, 1956, he married Mary Reed of Fort Morgan. They were blessed with three daughters.
Gordon lived in Fort Morgan until 1965, when he moved to Sterling. He spent 21 years with the Pepsi Bottling Group, and then many years as a salesman at local auto dealerships.
He was a lifetime member of the Sterling BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, camping, playing cards, hunting, fishing and golfing. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Mary Rich of Sterling; daughters, Terri Ransdell and husband Monty of Sterling, Pam Schneider and husband Rick of Englewood, and Shelly Ashley and husband Matt of Akron; sisters, Mildred Smith of Bakersfield, Calif., Jean Pantlick of Bartlesville, Okla., and Lillie Coleman of McCook, Neb.; eight grandchildren, Marshall and Matthew Ransdell, Michael and Emily Schneider, and Brittany, Gregory, Paige and Treyson Ashley; one great-grandson, Brendon Ransdell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
