Gladys V. Reinhardt, 101 of Sterling, passed away Mon., March 14, 2016 in Sterling. Memorial service will be 11am Fri., March 18 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michelle Witherspoon officiating. Inurnment at Riverside Cemetery.

Gladys was born Sept. 22, 1914 at a homestead south of Fleming, CO to Clyde and Florence Knight Kidwell. She graduated from Fleming High School in 1933. On March 28, 1935 in Sidney, NE she married Archie K. Reinhardt. They resided on the Reinhardt farm east of Sterling, in the Leroy District for nine years. Both Archie and Gladys were employed at the Great Western Sugar Factory during campaign time. Gladys worked at the Leader Western Store on Front St. and was employed at Watkins Fashions for 31 years and at Conrads before they closed. Merchandizing was her love, meeting people and making close friends.

Gladys was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1955. She was a deacon and elder and a member of the Friendship Circle of the church. On May 28, 1949 she became a member of Iota Masters Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed and loved the many lovely friends during the 65 years she was a member. She was also a member of the Logan County Extension Club and leader of the Cluberette 4-H Club. Gladys volunteered at the nursing home, the Information Center and enjoyed her membership in the Historical Society. Her hobbies were many, grandkids, great and great great grandkids, her six generations of grandkids, and enjoying reading, cooking and baking, crocheting for family and friends. Gladys loved to fish and have family holidays together with everyone there and lots of food.

In 2009 Gladys was the recipient of the Sterling Lions Club Pioneer Award, which was given to a pioneer of Logan County.

Gladys is survived by her son Robert Reinhardt and wife Carol of Padroni, CO, daughter-in-law Barb Reinhardt of Glendale, AZ, grandchildren Rhonda Modrell and husband Roger of Padroni, Kelly Reinhardt and wife Kathy of Sterling, Ronny Score and wife Jenifer of Scottsdale, AZ, Kathy Hicks of Mazola, MT, Jerry Reinhardt and wife Deb of Greeley, Jacob Reinhardt of Glendale, AZ, Jenifer Reinhardt of Glendale, AZ and Sharon Naughton and husband Craig of Ferny, NV, 19 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren, 2 great great great grandchildren and her best friend Lee Bowey of Sterling, the Beta Sorority Girls and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Archie Reinhardt in 1995, son Dale Reinhardt, brothers Virgil Kidwell and Marion Kidwell.
