Ginger Lynn Wassenaar, 65, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, in Julesburg, Colorado. A memorial service for Ginger will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26 at First Baptist Church with Pastor David Baines officiating.

Ginger was born in Julesburg, to parents Leon Wassenaar and Delia Maret. Ginger was one of a kind—a genuine, kind, honest, hard-working woman who openly accepted and loved everyone she met. She loved the Lord and measured her success in life on how she impacted others to do what is good and right. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and had many people, from all walks of life, whom she considered her friends. She had battles with her health for years, but never allowed those to dilute her love and care for other people.  She died knowing she was successful as she left a legacy of children who grew up and are overcoming the world.

Ginger is survived by her 3 children, Jethro (Sarah) Sommers, Sonya (Gavin) Batty and Martin (Jessica) Sommers, grandchildren Mason Helm Sommers, Morgan Lee & Piper Ellen Marie Batty, and Malcom Joseph and Sawyer John Sommers, and many great-grandchildren.
