Obituary

Gerald Edwin Jobe, 91 of Sterling, passed away Tues., March 22, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be Fri. Apr. 1 from 1pm until 4pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sat. Apr. 2 at 10:30 am at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating. Service will conclude at the church.

Jerry was born Oct. 20, 1924 in Crook, CO to Harold F. and Estella P. Marshall Jobe. He graduated from Crook High School in 1942. Jerry served in the United States Army during WWII overseas from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945.

On Oct. 10, 1945 in Sterling, CO he married Betty D. Gates. Jerry continued his education at CU, graduating in 1949. He owned and operated Pawnee Furniture Store in Sterling.

He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Jerry was a member of the Sterling Elks Lodge No 1336 for 63 years and was exalted ruler in 1981. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #54 for 63 years, a member of the American Legion Post No 20, VFW Post 3541 and the Disabled American Veterans.

Jerry is survived by his wife Betty D. Jobe of Sterling, CO, sons Harold "Skip" Jobe and wife Michele of Sterling, Bill Jobe and wife Cindy of Highlands Ranch, CO, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn "Sally" Rush, brothers Harold, Gilbert, Kenneth and Norman Jobe.
