George Leland Zigler, 88 of Sterling passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday December 2 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Witherspoon. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

George was born April 4, 1928 in Loup City, Nebraska to Leland and Beulah (Evans) Zigler. He married Marlys Lou McDowell on March 28, 1948 in Sterling. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked many years as a custodian for the Boulder Public Schools.

George is survived by his daughter Lynne E. Daughenbaugh of Sterling; son Timothy L. Zigler and wife Cathy of Longmont; grandchildren Christina Edstrom and husband Tim, Russell Zigler and wife Melanie and Jenny Crehore and husband Larry; great-grandchildren Violette Edstrom, Christian Edstrom, Noah Zigler, Graham Zigler and Conner Daughenbaugh. He is also survived by his 2 sisters Shirley Grauberger of Greeley and Betty Uber of Haxtun.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marlys; parents; sisters Ada Horner and Darlene Grauberger and grandson Troy Daughenbaugh.
