Obituary

George Jake Baskall, 90 of Sterling, passed away Thurs., Dec. 11, 2014 in Aurora. Visitation will be from 10am until 4pm, Thurs., Dec. 18 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. There will be visitation at 10am on Fri., Dec. 19 at the Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 W. Milan Ave., Sheridan, CO with Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Fri, Dec. 19 at the Holy Name Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at 2:15pm, staging area C.

George was born Dec. 16, 1923 to George Frank and Elizabeth Weingardt Baskall in Denver, CO. He served during WWII in the U. S. Navy and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. George worked many years for the Sterling Police Department and the State Patrol in Golden until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 20, VFW Post 3541, BPO Elks Lodge No 1336 and the Knights of Columbus.

George is survived by a son George Baskall, daughter Dianne Olsen, brothers Bill Baskall, Robert Baskall and Richard Baskall, sisters Jeannette Leigh and Dolores Billingsley and three grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim, Louis, Alex, Lawrence and Joe and sister Betty Ann.
