Gene Michael Prussman Gene Michael Prussman, 51, of Sterling, died Sept. 10, 2011, in Greeley. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Holyoke Cemetery.
Mr. Prussman was born Dec. 25, 1959, in Denver. He was adopted at the age of 2 on Dec. 7, 1961, by Lyle G. and Lola L. (Sagehorn) Prussman. He attended kindergarten at Big Thompson in Loveland, then attended Lone Star School, graduating in 1978. He continued his education at Concordia Lutheran College at Seward, Neb.
He taught in Texas and Oklahoma in elementary schools. He worked for BOCES at Yuma.
He enjoyed cooking and crafts.
Mr. Prussman cooked at Sterling Living Center and the Salvation Army in Grand Island, Neb. He spent his later years helping out at the farm and caring for his mother, Lola.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his father, Lyle G. Prussman and wife Jean of Evans; brother, David Prussman of Otis; sisters, Jan Rogers and husband Bob of Otis and Julie Prussman of Otis; niece and nephews, Lyle and Sara Rogers and Hailey Hewitt.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola, in 2007.
