Gary Allen Felzien, 78 of Sterling died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis, also known as "farmer's lung." A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 8 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Gary was born on October 18, 1939 in Sterling, Colorado to Marvin O. and Mildred L. (Dunker) Felzien. Gary graduated from Sterling High School and attended NJC and CSU. He graduated from CSU in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in business. After graduation, Gary returned to the Kelly community and farmed for the rest of his life. He married Gail E. Gustafson in March 1963.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mildred; brother, Roger; sister, Sharon and nephew, Kent Davis.

Gary is survived by his wife Gail; daughter, Maret Felzien and husband Ned Norman; son, Joel Felzien; granddaughter, Ella Norman; brother-in-law, Dean Davis; nephews, Kevin Davis, and Cory Felzien; nieces, Kara Gates, Debbie Fitzjohn and Deanna Weingardt and his favorite companion, Ozzie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Plains or the Wild Animal Sanctuary in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, PO Box 1046, Sterling, CO 80751.
