Garry Paul Johnson, Jr., 56 of Sterling passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in Greeley, CO. A celebration of Garry's life will be held at a later date.
Garry was born May 3, 1964 in Denver, Colorado to Garry Paul Johnson, Sr., and Sharon Jean (Chavis) Stueller. He graduated high school and attended Denver University on a hockey scholarship. He graduated with his master's degree in computer science. Garry served in the U.S Marine Corp. and was honorably discharged. He survived 3 helicopter crashes while serving his country. He was a strong man! Garry was jovial and loving and was known as a maverick.
Garry served as a sheriff deputy in Arizona for 11 years. He moved to Sterling and started a career at Korf Motors as a salesman. Garry loved racing and cars, watching the Broncos, movies, hockey, John Wayne and spending time with his family and friends. He cherished his special love Carol and their baby, Itty Bit.
He is preceded in death by his father Garry Paul Johnson, Sr., mother Sharon Jean Chavis Stueller and both of his grandparents.
Garry is survived by his love of 16 years, Carol Jo Gertner, sisters Debra Hazelett-Hansen of Magnolia, TX and Kimberly Ann Headley and husband Steve of Prescott, AZ; brother Michael Richard Davenport and wife Maryann of Ft. Worth, TX; aunts Caryl Rowland and husband David of Delta, CO and Janice Johnson of Camp Nelson, CA.
