Frieda Knaub, 92, of Sterling, passed away Dec. 2, 2012, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Closed casket services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Faith United Methodist Church, with Pastor Eunjoo Yi officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Frieda was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Sterling to Edward and Elizabeth (Ruppel) Fritzler. She attended Sterling schools.

She was lunchroom manager for the public schools.

On Dec. 25, 1941, she married John Knaub in Scottsbluff, Neb.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Frieda is survived by her daughter, Norma Gillham and husband Ron of Sterling; brothers, Albert Fritzler and wife Peachie of Sterling, Leon Fritzler and wife Beverly of Sterling; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knaub in 1974; son, John Knaub in 1998; sisters, Millie Schott, Mary Lebsack, Irene Eisenach, Katherine Brunkhardt, Lydia Meisner; brothers, Ted Fritzler, Edward Fritzler and Robert Fritzler.
