Florence M. Grimm, 86, of Sibley, Iowa, formerly of Sterling, died March 4, 2007, in Sibley.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Christ United Methodist Church, with Rev. Joyce DeToni-Hill officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Grimm was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Sterling to Jesse and Maude (Trimmer) Brewer. She was raised in Sterling, graduating from Sterling High School. She was a secretary, a stenographer for Logan County Extension Service, and a clerk at Daylight Donuts.
On Sept. 11, 1949, she married Paul Grimm in Sterling. They lived and worked on the family farm near Willard, moving to rural Sterling in 1955. In 1995, they moved to Devonshire Acres Assisted Living, and later to Sibley.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She volunteered her services for the Brownie and Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, church rummage sales and youth groups, and was a 4-H leader.
Mrs. Grimm is survived by four daughters, Constance Johnson, Sterling, Pauline Scharf, Branson, Mo., Karen Kasch and husband Russell, Sibley, and Faith Fischer and husband Richard of UK, England; a son, Roy Grimm and wife Virginia, Colorado Springs; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and her husband in 2001.
