Ferol Louise Miles, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at a later date.

Ferol was born June 4, 1933 in Sterling, Colorado to Earl and Alice (Landrum) Reynolds. She grew up in Sterling and her love of sports led her to pursue a physical education degree from University of Northern Colorado (formerly Colorado State College). Sports were a big part of her life, and it wasn't uncommon to find her at the softball fields, bowling alley, or golf course in her younger years. In fact, she met her future husband at the softball fields; they both shared a mutual love of all things sports, and particularly enjoyed watching the Broncos and the Rockies.

Ferol was adventurous, inquisitive, and enjoyed a good time with family and neighborhood friends. Her thoughtfulness and caring was evident when she and her husband adopted two children, and she spent the majority of her life being the dependable stay-at-home mom.  She was active in all activities her children were involved in, and this involvement transferred to her grandchildren as well. Ferol was the enforcer of all rules, but she cared fiercely for her family and would protect them at all costs. She was an animal lover, and the house was always filled with at least one dog and cat for many years. Although last few years of her life were spent in the nursing home with worsening dementia, her spirit persevered; she will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane "50" Miles; parents Alice (Landrum) and Earl Reynolds; brother Kent and his wife Joan Reynolds.

She is survived by daughter Misti Pierce (Randy) of Sterling; son Scott Miles of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; grandchildren, Shawn Lauer (Anna) of Melbourne, FL, Morgan Lauer (Stefan Williams) of Sterling, Sky, Wynn, and Kellyn Miles of Frisco, CO; nieces, Vicki Callagan and Mindy Reynolds; and her beloved dog Benji.
