Faye Skarka, 91, of Sterling, passed away Sun., Dec. 28, 2014 in Sterling. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Sat., Jan. 3, 2015 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, Nebraska at a later date.

Faye was born Dec. 18, 1923 in Sterling to Floyd and Viola Stillabower Wilcox. She married Leonard Skarka, who preceded her in death.

She worked for many years for Wilkerson Manufacturing in Denver and later returned to Sterling to work on the family farm. Faye enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, traveling, camping and going to the reservoir. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary.

Faye is survived by nephews Dennis Wilcox and wife Cathy and Ron Wilcox and numerous great nephews and great nieces and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lloyd and John Wilcox and sister Doris Nicolson.
