Obituary

Everitt Milton Bartholomew, 94, began his new journey with God on June 29, 2014. He will be sadly missed by those that love him, but we know he will be watching over all of us.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Wed., July 2, 2014 at First Christian Church with Pastor Lew Champ officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites.
Everitt was born on Feb. 14, 1920 in Sterling to Armand John "Army" and Flora Dickerson Bartholomew. He was the youngest child of three siblings, Harry and Della and Robert. He graduated from high school in 1938. He served in the Army Air Corp from Jan. 1942 until Sept. 1945.
He married Evelyn Viola Blair on July 2, 1949 in Sterling. They raised Becky, Tim, Sam and Johnny. He farmed until 1982 and then took over Mr. D's Hardware until 1992 when he retired.
He loved his family, traveling and the changing of the aspen. Everitt was a member of the Masonic Temple and the BPO Elks Lodge, was a WWII veteran and a member of the First Christian Church.
Everitt is survived by daughter Becky Wasson and husband Paul; son Sam Bartholomew and wife Diane; grandchildren Jami and Danelle, Amber, Dillon, Sean, Trissten and Elissa; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, two sons Johnny and Timothy, parents, two brothers Robert and Harry and a sister Della.
