Esther Mae Youngman, 87, of Haxtun passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Haxtun Hospital in Haxtun, Colorado. Visitation will be Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Chaney Reager Funeral Home, 443 South 2 nd Street, Sterling, Colorado. Esther's family will honor her with a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling with Reverend Michelle D. Witherspoon as officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
She was born October 26, 1930 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was the fifth child of Lawrence O. Deisher and Gladys (Miller) Deisher.
Esther married Earl G. Youngman on May 27, 1947. They shared 34 years together.
Esther loved spending time with her family and traveling to southern Illinois to see her beloved parents, brothers, and sisters. She loved gardening, pets, and coffee with her friends. In her church, she loved to volunteer for the rummage sale each year. She worked decades as a certified nurses' aide in Sterling and loved the work.
She is survived by her son, Gary Youngman and wife Libby of Sidney, Nebraska; grandson Eric Youngman of Eaton; daughter Penny Propst and husband Ted Propst of Sterling; granddaughter Katie Propst and husband Adam Graham of Castle Pines; granddaughter Keri Propst and husband Sean Baran of Denver; granddaughter Michelle Erb and husband Scott of Sterling; granddaughter Melissa Frankenfeld and husband Mike of Sterling; daughter-in-law Joan Sheldon of Fort Collins; grandson Howie Youngman of Fort Collins; and numerous great grandchildren and Mike Webb of Sterling; siblings Mary Peach, Loree (Frank) Barber, Loren (Lois) Deisher, Kay (Fred) Linxwiler, Lloyd (Jane) Deisher, Donnie (Sandy) Deisher, and Lois Houchin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, daughter Peggy, son Mike, and special family friend Harold Kautz. Her siblings that preceded her in death were Floyd Deisher, Betty Stoltz, Wilma Brown, Beverly Harding and Jean McCaw.
Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Asset Program which is a mission that assists in educating and feeding children in Sterling or the Logan County Humane Society.
