Elsie Christine Propp, 84, of Sterling, died Oct. 20, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Christ United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born June 27, 1927, in Omaha, Neb., to Harold and Agnes A. (Hansen) Jensen. She graduated from high school in 1945 from Hay Springs, Neb., and from Midland College in Fremont, Neb.
On Nov. 28, 1948, she married Clarence W. Propp in Rushville, Neb.
She farmed in Iliff with her husband until moving to Sterling in 1991.
Mrs. Propp was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, and was an acolyte leader at the church. She attended Bible study at Iliff for many years and enjoyed sewing as a hobby and collected angels.
She is survived by her sons, Larry A. Propp and wife Pam of Sterling, Darold E. Propp of Sterling; brother, Harley Jensen and wife Gladys of Hay Springs, Neb.; grandchild, Erin Long and husband Rob of Hayden; and great-grandchild, Brianna S. Long of Hayden.
Mrs. Propp was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Propp in 1999.
