Elnora Schilling Elnora Schilling, 85, of Sterling, passed away Jan. 6, 2012, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with the Rev. Andrew Dimit officiating. There will be a luncheon at noon at First English Lutheran Church for family and friends before the service. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Elnora was born July 1, 1926, in Maywood, Ill., to Gottlieb and Lydia (Albrandt) Niesen. She attended school in the Logan County area.
On Jan. 19, 1947, she married Edward Schilling in Sterling. They were married for 61 years before Ed passed away in 2008.
Elnora was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild at the church. She loved to read.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Noffsinger and husband Dennis of Haigler, Neb.; Charlene Schilling of Sterling, Kathryn Vaughn of Iliff; sisters, Florence Fahlstedt of Sequim, Wash., Bernice Schledwitz of Windsor, Carolyn Kerschner of Sterling; brother, Richard Niesen of Casper, Wyo.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Elnora was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Niesen and Raymond Niesen; sister, Rosemarie Niesen; and her parents.
