Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Lou Harden, 81, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in Sterling. She had been ill for many years. A private family inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Harden was born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929, in Hays Center, Neb., to Margaret B. Bishop.

At the age of 1, she moved to Sterling with her grandparents, A.B. Bishop. She attended Lincoln School in Sterling, and moved to Denver where she completed her education.

She was a licensed daycare worker in Sterling for many years.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was an avid coin collector until her death.

Mrs. Harden is survived by her son, Lee Harden of Sterling; daughters, Pat Meeks and husband Don of Green River, Wyo., and Lorraine McCay of Nebraska; grandchildren, Danielle Keenan of Colorado Springs, Jennifer Lofton of Mesa, Ariz., Samantha McCay of Sterling, Michelle McCay of Nebraska and Tim Renner of Reno, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Gregory McCay of Sterling and Austin and Grace Renner of Reno.

She was preceded in death by sons Robert and Richard Renner, and sister, Connie Headrick.
Chaney-Reager Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
